<image:title>The Fourth Trimester - Why this program?</image:title>
<image:caption>In this 6-week program, we not only progressively build strength & stability in a safe manner, but we dive deep into the why. Knowledge is power, the more you know about your own body, the more you’re in control of your health and well-being. Learning the why behind the program not only clarifies the necessity of postpartum rehab but also answers a lot of long-held questions or worries about your body. This program includes detailed videos, leading you through the exercises - rather than just pictures with descriptions. Understanding form breakdown will help you gain confidence with movement in everyday life. Improved movement patterns will transfer to harder and more complicated exercise program goals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>There is a constant change to your center of gravity and increase to the curve of your low back during pregnancy. These changes alone cause increased stress and tension to the low back and pelvis. Gentle manipulation, soft tissue treatment, and exercise help to ease symptoms allowing for a more comfortable pregnancy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Pregnancy & Postpartum - The Fourth Trimester</image:title>
<image:caption>This is a critical time for the mother to rehab her body back to the once good functional moving body she had before. Will things be exactly the same? No. Does this mean we have to accept this as our new body or life? No. Is it every woman’s desire to feel like it’s their body again? YES. Whether you have a vaginal or cesarean birth, your body is now recovering from a trauma, or even major surgery. We want to bring back the strength of critical areas such as in the core, pelvis and back. However, not all exercises are appropriate for a mother at this time, which is why it’s important to seek professional help during this period. In the process of improving our bodies, we don’t want to do activities or exercises that can hurt us more.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This is where I locate and work on those knots & painful regions within the muscles that are causing symptoms. Once located, I work out the area with deep pressure and movement until the muscle-fascial connection is released. Bringing new blood and healing to the area.</image:caption>

<image:title>Treatment - Soft Tissue</image:title>
<image:caption>What is soft tissue? This category includes muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. These tissues work together in order to move your body around, maintain upright posture, perform functional movements, help circulate blood, etc. Since we use our soft tissues constantly throughout the day, you can begin to see how it is easy for certain areas to become overworked & overstressed due to high repetition. Sometimes these consistent stresses overwhelm the tissues, which leaves you stuck with tension and/or pain. When this happens muscles can become adhered to the surrounding fascia causing even further motion restriction. With soft tissue complaints I like to focus on detecting the exact area contributing to the patient’s complaints and removing the problem. Soft tissue treatment can include pin & stretch, trigger point therapy, muscle scrapping, cupping and/or therapeutic stretching.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:title>Treatment - Strength Training or Rehab Program</image:title>
<image:caption>I create an individualized plan that targets your weaknesses to help improve acute/chronic issues while still increasing your overall strength. Programs are 4-6 weeks long. Get 1:1 instruction for 60 min. on how to perform lifts on your own. Reach your goals quicker and safer.</image:caption>

<image:title>Treatment - Chiropractic Manipulation</image:title>
<image:caption>What is a chiropractic manipulation? Manipulation is a tool I use in order to put motion into a joint. The joint is either not moving well or not moving at all. When joints are not able to move well they tend to coincide with more pain. This is because when our joints move, they send a signal to the brain which overrides all other signals, even pain. When motion is taken away, the overriding signal can become pain. So the saying, "Movement is medicine" takes on a completely different meaning, because quite literally the more you move the healthier of life you will lead! **I am totally aware that manipulation is not for everyone. This is not something I force, only a tool I use if we both are comfortable with it.</image:caption>

<image:title>Treatment - Therapeutic Stretching</image:title>
<image:caption>Therapeutic stretching is different from your regular stretching in that with this kind of stretching we are targeting certain issues. The doctor will stretch out particular joints and fascial planes, in order to get you a deeper & more satisfying relief.</image:caption>

<image:title>Treatment - Cupping</image:title>
<image:caption>Cupping is a form of deep tissue work, that works to break up adhesions and increase the circulation to a desired area. This is different from other techniques as it is a vacuum, rather than deep pressure. Most the benefits come from the increased circulation, therefore healing.</image:caption>
